New Song Music Haven is committed to enthusiastically raising up Central Virginia’s aspiring musicians, taking students from beginning to advanced skill levels while instilling a lifelong love for music excellence in vocal performance and Orff Schulwerk. We offer both voice-focused training for teens and adults, and Orff-based instrumentation classes for children who thrive in group learning.
“He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.”
Dr. Allen was very approachable and made me comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them.
Her critiques always began with what I did right, were constructive, and never felt demanding. It was easy and fun to learn in her studio.”

My teaching style focuses on strong fundamentals (breath support, expressive singing, rhythmic accuracy, and ensemble awareness) while also allowing room for play, imagination, and personal discovery. Students learn through movement, practice, improvisation, and hands-on music-making, developing confidence they can carry into every area of life.
I offer military discounts and scholarships for lessons.
Please inquire with me if you’re eligible for either of these discounts!

Wonderful! These lessons support intellectual, social, artistic, and emotional growth for students of all interests. I love teaching future engineers and teachers just as much as future performers.
